LSC President and CEO Ted Goins was elected chair of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association (NCHCFA) in May 2022 during the association’s annual meeting. He will serve a two-year term.
“LSC’s vision, mission, and values mean that if we are going to be members of organizations, we should be active members,” Goins said. “That includes taking our turn in leadership, sometimes as leaders and sometimes as followers.”
NCHCFA represents over 90% of all the nursing homes in the state of North Carolina. With over 40,000 beds and 40,000 teammates, quality nursing homes are vital for the elders of North Carolina, and for the state itself.
Goins added that NCHCFA involvement is more important than ever right now.
“NCHCFA is leading in the midst of a lifetime event in the Covid pandemic and in the midst of the worst workforce emergency in modern history,” he said. “NCHCFA is leading the advocacy effort for adequate reimbursement to allow health care to pay adequate wages and benefits which is essential to caring for our state’s elders as we’d want to be cared for.”
Goins has been involved with the NCHCFA for over 30 years.
