Trinity Grove, a skilled nursing care community in Wilmington, has confirmed that seven residents have tested positive for COVID.
“We continue to apply infection control protocols diligently,” said Trinity Grove Administrator Bonnie Skobel. “Our teammates have been working hard for many months under very stressful conditions and done wonderfully well under the circumstances. We are grateful that our residents’ families have been extremely supportive.”
“Outbreaks in congregate care facilities are inevitable when infection is pervasive in the community,” said Lutheran Services Carolinas president Ted Goins. “Despite the pandemic, LSC’s skilled nursing homes, including Trinity Grove, are faring better than many. Our Trinity Grove teammates have really stepped up during this pandemic.”
“Testing for residents and staff continues,” Skobel said. “We continue to work closely with the New Hanover County Health Department and follow their guidance.”
“Everyone in New Hanover County and beyond can do their part to keep our elders safe,” Goins said, “including practicing the three Ws: Wear a mask, Wait six feet apart, and Wash your hands.”
